Deha Dharma Vs Veda Dharma

The monk was traveling today on the train. A Brahmin was sitting nearby. In the early hours of the morning, his wife was in sleep. Even at night, his daughter was continuously speaking on the phone.

The Brahmin got up at 5 a.m. and slowly began to chant the slokas. A small lamp was lit on the edge of the compartment. Fellow passengers watched it with irritation.

Even the Brahmin's wife said, “What’s going to happen if you sleep for some more time?”, she muttered to her husband. The bearded son of the Brahmin was caught in a WhatsApp intoxication.

But the Brahmin was deeply immersed in the chanting of Purusha Suktam. The monk also sat by the window, started chanting his Ishta Mantra. Many of the travelers who had woken up from time to time looked at the monk and the Brahmin as strange creatures. It’s 6 o’clock. Still, everyone was asleep.

The monk looked at the Brahmin with respect, as he continued to follow the tradition of Sanatana Dharma. “I am unable to wake up these people, who sleep too much. But the Lord has blessed me to live according to the Sanatana Dharma" he said.

The Brahmin further said, “I slept till 4:30 am”, it is the Dharma of the body. During this Ushath period, it’s time to be in divine thoughts, this is the Veda Dharma." The monk began to visualise with reverence the lineage of the Rishi Parampara in his mind.
