Excellence in Seconds - 3

Yesterday, our monk met a couple on their wedding day who have been living together for 30 years.

The Monk asked Smt. Narmada, "What is the secret behind your peace and happy married life, ma?" Narmada, which is also a river, means "the flow of water never stops".

She replied, "I don't know much about that. However, I trust my husband. Even during the pandemic, he engages himself in various social activities. I cannot do all of the charitable work that he does. However, can I not take good care of someone who does good for others? Further, I do not expect much from anyone, so there is no disappointment."

Finally, the young mother said modestly, in her native language of Saurashtra, "Bhujjai... that's enough." After hearing this, the husband said, "I hope it is divine grace that I have got her as my wife and I am blessed with our two children."

Our monk understood: "There is no wealth greater than contentment; there is no treasure like a satisfied mind." I am glad to see someone living up to these sayings of the Holy Mother, Sri Sarada Devi.

This unique aspect of Indian womanhood embraces the family with the ability to remain calm and govern everyone with concern and care.
