Last week our monk visited a women's college and addressed a gathering.There he spoke about the well being of women. At present, on one side, anti-social elements are targeting young girls and instigating their emotions.
On the other side, the love fighters are deliberately roaming around to target Hindu teenage girls and convert them to their religions.
In this context, the monk explained through an example the need and ways for young girls to be at home and outside.
The monk said: “Young girls, you are like plantain leaves. When the tree is filled with leaves, it appears beautiful and auspicious. When the leaves are grown up, they are put to many uses like for feeding the food to people, for use in puja, festivities and used to tie as a thoran”.
"On the contrary, the leaf should not be released from the tree in haste. You should never allow anyone to manipulate you.
"Dear children, you should never leave your parents shadow and allow others to destroy and disperse you. So, be courageous, and auspicious. Be a daughter who makes her parents proud. Become students who add fame to the professors. Become the good strong and intelligent ladies for the country."
Having made these remarks, the monk prayed for the well-being of students. The young girls were overwhelmed with emotions.
