Quest For Life - 17

Question: Students are nowadays very casual towards wastage of any resources. The idea of savings and proper usage is being ridiculed by them. Why it is so?
                                                                                                                                                                                            - Sri. Mahesh, Hyderabad.

Answer: Selfishness. The period we live in can be called as "selfish age" like "stone age" or ice age".

Reckless attitude and complacency is the direct attribute of free availing of all the things they want including comforts and luxuries.

Govt. schools provide to students many freebies and the students of private schools get all their wants either being a single child and or due to too much pampering by parents. Students hardly understand the difficulties of getting the things they need with the joy of labour.

In today's marketplace, many products are available for single use only. People follow USE and THROW attitudes, right from refill to relationship has become the culture of our time. Everything is least valued.

The worst example is the shameless NEWS broadcasting the students burning textbooks in front of the school where they studied after the completion of exams.

Mahesh, Use, reuse and preserve for future generations is the attitude and habit inculcated in our Bharat tradition. This should start from parents stopping being a supermarket or an ATM machine for their children. The habit of avoiding wasting unnecessarily should be cultivated starting from every morsel of food without spilling.

The 'consuming for living' idea should be ingrained. This may lead to Raw Preservation of all resources, the way nature created them, for the whole world.
