"Dear children, you should never leave your parents shadow and allow others to destroy and disperse you.   So, be courageous, and auspicious. Be a daughter who makes her parents proud. Become students who add fame to the professors. Become the good strong and intelligent ladies for the country."

Having made these remarks, the monk prayed for the well-being of students. The young girls were overwhelmed with emotions.

Jai Sri Sarada Devi Ki Jai

First, when there is no fan, I feel the breeze, coming like the wind to cool me. That is a tangible grace of God, I experienced many times.

Secondly, I have observed that despite the extreme external heat, our concentration of mind and devotion also improve.

Thirdly, even the slightest of problems also threaten us because of the idea that “I am the body”, i.e., “the body attachment” and also "I am the doer".

“At times like these, I would pray to God that we should have a state of lack of sense of having a body. During that time, I have experienced a state of bliss that transcended me, and I have forgotten the awareness of my body. I shall narrate an incident from the life of Swami Ramakrishnananda, alias Sashi Maharaj when he was staying in Chennai.

It was summer and the weather was hot and dry. Sashi Maharaj could not tolerate the heat. Then suddenly his thoughts went towards Sri Ramakrishna, who is worshipped as the deity in the temple. 'If I am unable to tolerate this heat, then Sri Ramakrishna must also be suffering because of the heat'.

The next moment he picked up a hand fan, ran to the temple and started fanning the image of Sri Ramakrishna. Then a miracle happened. To quench the heat of the deity, when Sashi Maharaj was fanning, he experienced that the heat and his own body had cooled down. This is the power of devotion.

The monk said, “Dear Devotee, as Sadhus we think deep, hard, pray and meditate and find answers to any problem in many ways. The devotee felt an enjoyable breeze blowing, even during the summer.

Mahalingam met our monk today, after announcing his retirement. He said with excitement, “Swami ji, I have given Voluntary Retirement Service to the office. As you said, from now onwards, I will work for V -Vivekananda, R - Ramakrishna and S - Sarada ma. I have worked enough for others in vain”, and bowed down.

The monk looked at him deeply and said, "You have understood the first step of VRS. From now on you need to exhibit more responsibility and diligence."

Mahalingam: That’s it!  Swami ji, Now I will be able to participate in the activities of the Math and peacefully do the services.  Then whatever I do will be the service of Sri Ramakrishna, won't it?

Monk: Don't be in a hurry. Whatever you have earned so far in your employment is based on your will, duty, and responsibility towards your family, but now, you will be serving God, for your inner and spiritual growth. To serve Sri Ramakrishna one must pass through many levels.

Every act should be performed without selfishness and with devotion to God. By following Karma yoga, your talent should be used for the benefit of others.

There must be purpose and enthusiasm, while performing duties, must ensure that the Holy Trio gets satisfied with your actions. Only if these actions are done it is then correct V. R. S.

Service to God- Bhagavad Kaingariyam- is like a breath of life. Does it mean that someone has lived by breathing for a day or two? 

The monk's question made Mahalingam think deeply.
